With Great Responsibility There Must Also Come Great Power
Peter Parker learned from his uncle Ben and from hard experience that "With great power there must also come great responsibility." I believe that the converse statement is equally true: with great responsibility there must also come great power. If we want the power to improve our lives and the world around us, then we've got to start by taking on more responsibility. God did not give us agency because He thought it would be neat if we had the power to do whatever we want whenever we want. He gave us agency because He wants us to be righteous stewards of the world He created for us. When we choose to take responsibility for our own lives and our own actions, God will give us the power of His enabling grace to change our lives for the better. And when we take responsibility for the lives and actions of our family, our friends, our neighbors and communities, and even for the whole world, God will give us power equal to the responsibility that we have taken.
