More Holiness Give Me

“More holiness give me,” (“More Holiness Give Me, Phillip Paul Bliss). There are no inherent limitations to the level of Holiness to which we can hope to attain, nor is Holiness something that we are expected to or even capable of achieving on our own. Holiness is a gift from God, and however much we have received so far, there is always more that our Heavenly Father is ready and eager to give to us. If our Sabbaths are not as holy as we might like, then we can ask for more holiness. If our study of the scriptures is not as holy as we might like, we can pray until our Scripture study is filled with more Holiness. Even our hunger and thirst for more holiness is in itself a gift from God. The fact that we feel we can be more holy is the spur we need to ask for more holiness. We should be engaged all the days of our lives in pursuing more and more holiness. To such a purpose were we born and chasing after more and more holiness is the surest way that we have to a life of peace and joy and fulfillment.
