“That we through our faith may begin to inherit the visions and blessings and glories of God.” (William W. Phelps, “The Spirit Of God”). An inheritance becomes available after the death of a family member or friend who had a significant enough estate to make prior arrangements in their will to leave something of value for us. Jesus Christ already died for our sins. It is according to His will that we begin to receive the inheritance of the visions and blessings and glories of God not just after this life is over and we have entered into the Celestial Kingdom but starting right now. None of us would wait until after we are dead to receive or utilize an inheritance that has been bequeathed to us from an earthly relative. So why should we wait to begin to receive our inheritance from the Lord? Obviously we don't have the capacity to receive everything that the Father has right now, but we can strive day by day to develop our faith so that we may receive more and more each day. We don't need to worry about using up our inheritance too soon. Our inheritance is infinite. We can lay hold on blessing after blessing and glory after glory and not come close to running out by the time our mortal lives are over. I hope we will no longer postpone receiving and putting to use our inheritance.
