Work Over Time
Faith is a principle of power. In physics, power is defined by the formula of work over time. When we have faith, we have a clear vision that we are willing to work towards, and a commitment to realizing that vision no matter how much time is needed. Power is work over time. Faith is work over time. The Lord has promised that He will prepare the way before us, and whether that way be short or long, if we keep to the faith and keep to the work, then however long of time it takes, we will have the power to realize our vision. The beautiful thing is that the more often we exercise our faith, the more often we put in the work, the greater will be our power to accomplish our desires. We will develop more keenly our sense of agency because we will more often see the fruits of our labors and begin to trust more fully that when we act in faith we have the power to change our lives for the better. Our success will inspire us to greater levels of faith and encourage us to work harder because we will have learned that our actions are neither overlooked nor ignored. When we try to believe without putting in the work, or when we go through the motions without any real belief that there will be positive or negative consequences to our actions, then there is no real connection between our faith and our work and thus no sense that we are agents with the power to change our lives. But if we believe and we put in work over time, then we will see the power that the Lord grants to those that believe and we will want to put in the work because we know that the power is real. Faith follows a simple formula. If we really believe, and if we really put in the work, and we do that work and hold onto that belief through thick and thin, short or long, and we keep believing and keep working however much time is required, then the power will come.
