“And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.” (2 Chronicles 14:11). One of the reasons that a lot of us hold back from asking for the Lord's help is not because we doubt that the Lord could help us, but rather because our problem is not the right size to go to the Lord with. Sometimes we may feel that our problem is so big that we aren't even sure where to start with asking the Lord for help. But perhaps even more often we may feel that the problem is too small to bother the Lord over. As Asa says in 2 Chronicles, “it is nothing” to the Lord to help us. Our Savior never hems or haws or does some cost benefit analysis or checks how naughty or nice we've been. If we ask Him for help, He is going to help us. Whether that's finding our car keys or battling cancer or anything in between, the Lord can and will help us. Just because we may be big and strong enough to face these things on our own doesn't mean we have to. Nothing is too big or too small for the Lord to help us with. I hope we will all grow a little more in our faith and humility so that we may include the Lord and His Almighty help in all of the details of our lives.
